Overall, the 2019 variant of Team Odds Shark went 41-41 on four Las Vegas football contests in Week 1 on a mix of college picks and 82 NFL. Out of these 14 members of this group, seven finished with a winning record in their selections while the other seven struggled a little, particularly in the Circa Sports Million specialist competition.
The group’s best performance came from the Ultimate Football Challenge of the Golden Nugget, where entrants can select some seven sides one of both college and pro football games. Harry Gagnon led how heading an impressive 6-1, including winners on Missouri (-14), Arkansas State (+1) and LSU (-6) in college and the Buffalo Bills (+3),” New England Patriots (-5.5) and Houston Texans (+7) from the professionals. Cousin Sal also went 4-3 in Week 1, going 3-1 in school with simple winners on Maryland (-2), Baylor (-26) and San Diego State (+7.5). Sal also had the Tennessee Titans (+5.5). Brian Szokoli and brothers Darren went 5-9 between them in their 14 picks in Week 1.
College football does appear like the team’s strong suit so far, as Odds Shark’s very own Jon Campbell (5-2) and Clay Travis (4-3) went a combined 9-5 in the William Hill College PickCeltics competition too. Campbell and Travis combined Gagnon with LSU (-5.5) over Texas, and the duo shared a different winner with Penn State (-29.5) routing Buffalo.
The results weren’t as great for Team Odds Shark from the SuperContest and also Circa Sports Million, using entrants required to select five NFL sides against the spread. The team of Anthony Riccobono (2-3), Frank Schwab (2-3), Jon Anik (3-2) and Paulo Antunes (3-2) was able to move 10-10 from the SuperContest, as three of these lost together with all the Denver Broncos (Select’em) on Monday Night Football to close 1.
In the Circa Sports Million, Odds Shark’s Joe Osborne (3-2) has been the only one of four associates to have a winning record in Week 1. Kris Abbott (2-3) and Joe Fortenbaugh (1-4) were burned by the Broncos (-2.5) as well while the lone winner for Pamela Maldonado (1-4) has been an easy one with the Titans (+5.5) on the Cleveland Browns.
