Coach Joe Schmidt stated Bundee Aki has beendevastated by his first-half red card after Ireland beat Samoa 47-5 to book a World Cup quarter-finals spot.
When Ireland led 21-5 centre Akis 29th-minute dismissal to get a hit Ulupano Seuteni came, but they did not concede for the rest of the match.
29, aki, was clearly mad since he left the pitch and is of Samoan descent.
We are contented with the result and performance but disappointed we didnt end with 15 players, said Schmidt.
Its devastating for Bundee. He knows the Samoan players really well.
Akis World Cup could be over following his red card and he faces an anxious wait to find out whether hes handed any sanction.
Previously, Samoa hooker Seilala Lam had been yellow-carded to get a similar high shot, but hed tried to lower his point of touch while Aki remained erect and referee Nic Berry ruled there wasa high degree of risk.
I rate Nic Berry and I believe he is a very great referee, therefore its tough to argue in the present time, added Schmidt.
Samoa were as distraught since the Irish above Akis red card and coach Steve Jackson said they would voluntarily make representations to assist the 29-year-old escape additional sanction.
I expect no additional sanction continues, said Samoa trainer Steve Jackson, who dropped two players to red cards throughout the class of the tournament.
Ive known Bundee for a long, long time, he is a excellent man with wonderful personality.
Hopefully the powers that be see some sense and he has to continue in the championship because he is a fantastic kid.
Ireland captain Rory Greatest said they were mindful not to panic following Akis premature departure.
We had to render some defensive rucks independently and make sure wed numbers on toes, explained the 37-year-old hooker.
We have overcome red cards previously. Its never perfect but it shows a lot of character about a squad that whenever you move a man down, the best way to adapt to this.
Finally there wasnt any panic. There was a lot of collective. We just continued to strike them.
Greatest said that the groups display in the seven-try triumphmaybe was not that pretty but it was powerful.
Following the Japan game we knew 10 points could get us , and we all got that. Their sleeves rolled up.
The major issue is that we never panicked [after the Japan game].
Ireland are after defeating Samoa 47-5 within their Pool A game in Fukuoka.
Paddy Barnes says he is contemplating his boxing future to Welshman Jay Harris at the Ulster Hall following a fourth-round weight loss loss.
