Super League Grand Final: Josh Jones front and centre for Salford Red Devils

A whole lot has changed to Josh Jones since his appearance in the Super League Grand Final.
It is five years since he was a part of the St Helens team that defeated Wigan Warriors 14-6 at Old Trafford, the team he will now line up against when unwanted Salford Red Devils step out onto the pitch.
The change has been shifting from the backs to the forward, although jones feels older and wiser too, and of course having had a short spell playing rugby union for Exeter Chiefs.
The 26-year-old has got the transition from centre since linking Salford at 2016, a thing that arrived at the proposal of head coach Ian Watson.
After I return into Salford, Watto said did I need to play in the rear row, Jones told Sky Sports. I like getting in the middle, I enjoy defending, I like assaulting, I enjoy playing off the half and being included a little more.
Since then, Ive got to it and fortunately Ive had a terrific year this year – and its not done yet.
I do not have to be quick to perform back row either, which is excellent! I can just rely on my power and my footwork.
The fact underlines the danger he poses in the forward only three players have made more yards compared to the 3,383 Jones has racked up from 461 conveys this year – one of these being team-mate Jackson Hastings.
Its no surprise to Jones the Red Devils half-back that is motivational maintained the 2019 Man of Steel award, but hailing not his performances to the team but for helping the Blackbrook amateur draw his game on also.
Hes brought my match on leaps and bounds and thats why he won Man of Steel, since he has been the best player in the league annually – and it has shown, Jones said.
He is brought more of this enjoyment factor back for me. We are great partners about the field and off , and from everybody I spend more time together with him and Joey Lussick off the field – and thats been replicated with the way we perform on the field.
He has made my stats go through the roof and Ive never worked so hard in a match because of him! But he is a great player and bloke, and if theres anybody to be a talisman for your club it is him.
Jones performances have caught the attention of Great Britain head coach Wayne Bennett too, with all the row being named as the Salford participant in the elite execution squad for the upcoming winter excursion.
The chance of being on the airplane for your Lions tour for over a decade has planned some disruption to personal aims, particularly having to put back because of getting married after the Grand Final of this week, his honeymoon.
Nonetheless, its a sacrifice Jones is pleased to create whether it means being a part of the group to face New Zealand Tonga and Papua New Guinea.
Ive got an extremely busy week, Jones said. Ive got a Grand Final Saturday, get married on Sunday after which, when I get about the excursion, I venture out together on Wednesday.
The honeymoon plans are long gonebut we could go away any time. Playing for Great Britain only comes around once in a life, therefore that I couldnt pass that opportunity up.
I had the older Great Britain duplicate shirt, so thats sort of my last memory of it and also to wear that top could make me happy with myself – and my family could be proud of me too
The Grand Final is the only thing on Jones head at present and itll mark the last match until he unites Super League rivals season to Hull FC.
Nevertheless, its a strange twist of fate that he finds himself enjoying from the club he previously won the Grand Final with – something which is not missing on Jones on one of leagues main phases his final game for Salford.
Its virtually written in the stars, isnt it? What a way to bow out, Jones stated. I love playing against Saints and now I always have done since Ive been in Salford.
If we could perform the way we understand we can then well definitely have a chance of winning
