Super League Grand Final: Josh Jones front and centre for Salford Red Devils

A whole lot has changed for Josh Jones since his appearance in the Super League Grand Final.
Its five years since he was a part of the St Helens club that defeated Wigan Warriors 14-6 in Old Trafford, the club he will now line up against when side Salford Red Devils step out on the pitch.
The change was shifting out of the backs into the forward, although jones feels older and wiser too, not to mention having had a spell playing rugby union for Exeter Chiefs.
Since linking Salford at 2016, a thing which arrived at the suggestion of head trainer Ian 29,, the 26-year-old has got the transition from centre to next row.
After I came back into Salford, Watto said did I wish to play at the back row, Jones told Sky Sports. I like getting in the center, I like defending, I enjoy attacking, I enjoy playing off the half and becoming included a little more.
Ever since then, Ive got into it and luckily Ive had a fantastic year this season – and its not finished yet.
I do not have to be quick to play back row either, which is very good! I will simply use my power and my footwork.
The danger he poses at the forward is due by the fact only 3 players have created yards compared to the 3,383 Jones has racked up – among these being team-mate Jackson Hastings.
Its no real surprise to Jones the Red Devils half-back that is motivational claimed the 2019 Man of Steel award, but hailing not only his performances for the team but also for helping the Blackbrook amateur draw his game on too.
Hes brought my match onto leaps and bounds and that is why he won Man of Steel, because hes been the best player in the league annually – and it is shown, Jones explained.
He has brought more of this enjoyment factor back for me personally. We are great mates about the field and off it, and together with him I spend more time from everybody and Joey Lussick off the area – and thats been duplicated with how we play on the area.
Hes made my stats go through the roof and I have never worked so hard in a game because of him! But he is a great player and bloke, also if there is anyone to become a talisman for the club its him.
Jones performances have captured the attention of Great Britain head coach Wayne Bennett with all the row being named as the Salford participant in the elite performance group for the upcoming winter tour.
The opportunity of being on the airplane for your Lions tour for more than a decade has planned a disruption to plans, namely having to put back due to getting married the day after the Grand Final of this week, his honeymoon.
Nonetheless, its a sacrifice Jones is pleased whether it means being a part of the squad to confront New Zealand, Tonga and Papua New Guinea to make.
I have an extremely busy week, Jones explained. I have a Grand Final Saturday, have married on Sunday and then, should I get about the excursion, I fly out with them on Wednesday.
The honeymoon programs are long gonebut we could go away any moment. Playing for Great Britain only comes about once in a lifetime, so I could not pass this opportunity up.
I had the older Great Britain duplicate shirt, so thats kind of my last memory of it and also to wear that top would make me proud of myself and my family will be proud of me too
The Grand Final is the only thing on Jones mind at present until he unites Super League competitions Hull FC season and itll mark the final match in a Red Devils shirt for him.
Nevertheless, it is a strange twist of fate that he finds himself enjoying from the club he previously won the Grand Final together – something thats not missing on Jones on one of league stages in his final match for Salford.
Its almost written in the stars, isnt it? What a way to bow out, Jones said. I enjoy playing against Saints and now I always have done since Ive been in Salford.
If we are able to perform the way we understand we can then well certainly have a chance of winning.
