UFC Betting News

The UFC has come a long way since the 1990s when Senator John McCain led a campaign to ban the game. Luckily for fighters and fans alike, UFC has risen to the peak of the sports societal status list and stamped itself as a novelty event-based entertainment action. People from all over the globe watch UFC and attend the events. Odds Shark’s Ultimate Fighting Championship webpages are filled with UFC betting tips, odds and more to provide you a better knowledge of how to bet on UFC and (hopefully) win a little cash.
A Brief History of the UFC
The first-ever UFC occasion (a pay-per-view affair) was held at the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado. It had been in 1993 and the winner was Royce Gracie of this legendary Gracie family — they are just like the Kardashians of MMA. Following UFC 1, the sport started to create interest from patrons and its own fan base started to grow. Fighting for a spot in the professional sports landscape, UFC expanded from only pay-per-view and created The Ultimate Fighter, a reality tv series for Spike TV about up-and-coming MMA fighters. Because of the UFC’s mainstream exposure, fighters like Georges St-Pierre became household names. Dana White, who’s held the position of UFC president since 2001, has led to the sport’s mainstream appeal by ensuring cards comprise notable fighters and events are heavily promoted. As of 2018, there was over 400 occasions and female stars like Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg are becoming just as popular as their male counterparts. Names like Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, T.J. Dillashaw and Rose Namajunas are becoming as popular as other celebrities of the sports world like Tom Brady, LeBron James, Serena Williams and Sidney Crosby.
The Way to Bet on the UFC
If it comes to betting on the UFC, there are two chief types of bets you can make. Both betting choices give you a opportunity to put smart wagers on the matchups and fighters of your selection.
Moneyline
A moneyline bet is a bet you put on the boxer you believe will win the battle. Each fighter is given the tag of underdog or preferred depending on if they are called to win or lose the match. For this instance, we will use made-up fighters. Frankie”Frankenstein” Frankowitz is recorded at -600 and his opponent Manny”Manners” McManus is recorded at +450. Within this scenario, Frankenstein is the preferred and Manners is the underdog. To be able to win $100 on Frankenstein, you’d have to bet $600. But if you wager $100 on Manners, you had web $450 if he wins. FYI, he is called Manners because he is super polite.
OVER/UNDER
UFC betting odds will be provided for OVER/UNDER round gambling wagers. This is a wager you can make on the number of rounds a bout will last. For a three-round competition, a wager will often be OVER/UNDER 1.5 rounds. For five-round matchups, the OVER/UNDER is generally 2.5 rounds. A good example would be if M. Bison and Colonel William F. Guile from Street Fighter were squaring off for a five-round competition. The UFC betting odds with this particular feign fight are +120 if the game goes over 2.5 rounds, and -140 when the game goes under 2.5 rounds. If you believe that it’ll be a quick fight, you’d take the UNDER and have to wager $140 to create $100. If you think the fight will last more than 2.5 rounds, you would take the OVER and you would need to bet $100 to win $120. If Colonel Guile KOs Bison in the center of the second round, if you gamble the UNDER, you’d win your wager. Sonic Boom!

The Difference Between UFC and MMA
The difference between mixed martial arts as well as the Ultimate Fighting Championship is that MMA is the sport and UFC is a business. Mixed martial arts is the style of fighting used from the UFC. It’s exactly the same as the NFL is a basketball and football is the game. MMA is a composite of various styles of fighting like boxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu and kickboxing. Mixed martial arts has been around since the early 1900s but it was not until the 1980s that it gained steam. In 1993, upon the creation of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, MMA became the powerhouse it is today. The UFC is headquartered in Las Vegas. John Wick will most likely be the face of this UFC if he was a real man because he knows how to fight and could likely win all his struggles. Do not touch his dog.
